"Upendi: A Beacon of Strength for GBV Survivors"

Vicar Hope Foundation introduces "Upendi," a groundbreaking programme designed to foster a supportive community for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The Swahili name, "Upendi," meaning love, encapsulates the essence of this initiative.

Upendi serves as a peer-led mutual aid fellowship, where survivors come together to share their experiences, providing a platform for solidarity and empowerment. The programme is meticulously crafted to offer survivors a safe space to express themselves, free from judgment, and to find strength in shared narratives.

At its core, Upendi is built upon the principles of empathy, understanding, and shared growth. The framework encourages survivors to engage in supportive discussions, group activities, and therapeutic sessions, fostering a sense of belonging and companionship.

The objective of Upendi is not only to address the immediate aftermath of GBV but to facilitate long-term healing through a network of individuals who understand and uplift each other. This unique support network, by Vicar Hope Foundation, aims to be a beacon of hope, resilience, and love, guiding survivors on their journey towards reclaiming their lives after the trauma of Gender-Based Violence.
